Trump Turns Syria Into Disaster with Biggest Blunder Yet

We’d have to start today by talking about
the parable disaster that Donald Trump’s total miss handling of the Kurds in serious
situation has become, and over the weekend we learned that ISIS fighters are now escaping,
potentially reinvigorating ISIS. Trump has been thrown into such disarray by this entire
situation that he’s now making suggestions as insane as, Oh, the Kurds are deliberately
freeing ISIS prisoners in order to force the United States to get back involved or to make
him look bad or whatever. Which is a conspiracy theory. That is absolutely without evidence.
I mean there’s just no evidence for that period. And it’s quite frankly an insane suggestion,
which we’ll talk about. And in the background, of course, if you were Russian president Vladimir
Putin, and you’re seeing what Donald Trump is doing, you were laughing all the way to
the bank. If you are Turkish president Erdogan and you see what Trump is doing, you are laughing
all the way to the bank. So let’s first just reset here. I mean, this
is just such a huge story. It’s just such a geopolitical disaster that we have to have
all the information and the context. Donald Trump teased a while ago, months close to
a year maybe at this point that he was going to get us troops out of Syria. Good. Okay.
Now any good progressive wants to get out of so-called forever Wars, out of military
engagements with no definite end point, military engagements of questionable ethics and morality
and practicality and sometimes legality, which often just fueled the military industrial
complex. So no argument from me or from any serious progressive in principle, we don’t
want us troops involved in any of these places where it is not necessary legal and all of
the other characteristics that we would want to see. Now, the concern around Syria was
that there was no particular reason why it made sense at that point to get out of Syria
specifically because we knew that our presence was partially to defend the curds and ethnic
group with their own culture and language. Who have been our allies in the fight against
ISIS. Now, all normal disclaimers apply when it comes to interventionism. We can’t be the
world’s police. We can’t be committed indefinitely to these engagements, but there were definitely
places we could have pulled troops from at the time that made more sense and didn’t immediately
and obviously put some of our allies at risk of death. And of course it just stunk at the
time that it was a move that both Putin and Erdogan would love for the United States to
make, since they are a combination of anti Kurdish and pro Bashar Al Assad. So we were
playing right into their hands. Okay. That was the situation at the time. So then it’s
quiet for some months and then last week Trump says, we’re pulling troops from Northern Syria,
but hold on a second. Turkey is going to attack the Kurds, aren’t they? They’re going to get slaughtered. Why are
you doing this? And Trump tweeted in response to those concerns last week, if Turkey does
things I don’t like, I’ll destroy their economy. I believe his exact word was that he would
obliterate their economy within hours. Turkey starts bombing Kurdish forces in Northern
Syria, and all of a sudden we’re wondering whose idea was this anyway to pull out of
Northern Syria? Because the state department didn’t recommend it. The military didn’t recommend
it. We can’t find a reasonable answer to that question other than circumstantially. It plays
right into what authoritarian Erdogan wants. It plays right into what authoritarian Vladimir
Putin wants. Not good is. That gets us to this past weekend, the long weekend here in
the United States where we had the Monday holiday. Uh, and it is a situation of absolute
horror in Northern Syria. A New York times investigation, by the way, over the weekend,
confirmed that in early may, Russian forces were bombing hospitals in Syria to hurt the
anti Assad movement. We know Putin wants to support Assad. Trump
is playing right into that. And the entire region now has turned into absolute and total
chaos. We’ve got videos of Turkish proxies straight up slaughtering people in the streets
of video of people with their hands tied behind their backs. Kurt Kurds, uh, being shot now,
even if you wanted us troops out, and even if you wanted us troops out now, which is
a reasonable position to have, there was a right way to do it. Donald Trump could have
worked with the United nations peacekeeping forces, maybe with the Syrian government,
I don’t know, in advance of just pulling out and uh, could have negotiated that there has
to be some force there to fill in the gap that would be created by Donald Trump pulling
forces, pulling troops from Northern Syria. But of course, that’s not how Donald Trump
works. And we now have 700 women and children link to ISIS who have left a Curtis detention
camp after an airstrike by Turkey dropped the entire area. And to just total Bedlam. We have a U S official
now who says that ISIS has a quote, second lease on life as a result of this completely
boneheaded decision by Donald Trump. The United States state department is acknowledging that
have written [inaudible], the civilian secretary general of the future Syria party, which is
the Kurdish movement, has been captured and killed by Turkish backed Syrian opposition
fighters. Uh, Syrian Arab fighters have been caught on video, as I mentioned, shooting
Kurdish prisoners with their hands tied behind their backs. And Donald Trump is suggesting
that it is all a conspiracy. Trump has suggested that the ISIS fighters who escaped were allowed
to escape by the Kurds in order to pull the United States back into the region. Trump
tweeting Kurds may be releasing some to get us involved, easily recaptured by Turkey or
European nations from where many came, but they should move quickly. Big sanctions on Turkey coming. Do people
really think we should go to war with NATO member? Turkey? Never. Ending Wars will end.
And there’s a couple of really important things here. Number one, there’s no evidence of what
Donald Trump is proposing here. I mean, there’s just no evidence. He can speculate if he wants,
but we all need to understand that it’s dangerous speculation because there is no evidence that
this is some ploy by the Kurds to release ISIS. There’s no evidence of that. And number
two, we can’t fall for this. Never ending Wars will end thing because that’s not actually
what this is about. This is nothing more than motivated speculative reasoning by Trump to
make himself look less bad. The world community is perplexed by what Donald Trump has done
here in the United States, ranging from Republicans all the way to Noam Chomsky believed that
this was the wrong decision and the news couldn’t be worse out of the region. The Turkish military has recaptured a border
area that had come to be under Kurdish control. Turkey now has it. How does Moscow, Mitch
McConnell spin this? What will Looney Lindsey Graham or flimsy Graham as one viewer suggested
I call him do now that he said Trump is going to have to suffer the consequences of what
happened here. If it all goes wrong and it has all gone very, very wrong. Donald Trump
has effectively undone the war against ISIS here. This is potentially potentially a foreign
policy disaster that will rival George W. Bush. His decision to get into the Iraq war
after a dozen and a half Saudi nationals attacked us on nine 11. I don’t want to be hyperbolic.
I’m not saying it is that yet, but it has the potential to be, and Donald Trump is in
his own world of conspiracy theories and tweeting as people are getting slaughtered within a
context of ISIS being reinvigorated. Maybe the, the, maybe it will rise to the
level of, uh, of a George W. Bush foreign policy blender. Certainly the biggest foreign
policy blunder of Trump’s presidency so far.

  1. this also reflects very poorly on turkey… their first incursion militarily and they start executing prisoners who are tied up. they should be expelled from nato and i would like to see some of the people responsible for this tried at the hague

  2. Of course the US can be 'the world police'. American disengagement from the middle east has been a pure disaster. The destruction of syria and rise of ISIS was entirely avoidable had obama fully committed to military action in the early stages of the conflict. By far the worst consequence of the Iraq war was the change of american attitudes.

  3. Wait until he can no longer defend his treasonous crimes, then he will try to resign with all his ill gotten blood coated gains to be left in place – DONT, PROSECUTE HIM TO THE FULLEST, TAKE EVERYTHING AWAY, IMPRISON FOR LIFE EVERYONE WHO HELPED HIM. – then increase taxes for the rich.

  4. Same people that wanted war in Iraq and Afghanistan want war with Turkey. Sorry I aint falling for the same trick this time.

  5. He probably thinks we cant go through with the 2020 election if we are fighting World war 3. Hes trying to start it now.

  6. Any fool could have predicted this scenario. The word fiasco does not do it justice. Horror is the old word that works. You want to see beautiful young men and women having their heads cut off by psychopathic jihadis? Well, feast your eyes, Trump fans.

  7. Time to remove US troops from Australia , the US can't be trusted ……. Shut down pine gap too and withdraw from any intelligence sharing/military commitments , and ask for a refund on these lame duck F35s we have paid for but haven't been delivered .

  8. David wants to save Kurds but not Afghans… Afghanistan (a country America and Pakistan destroyed by arming the Taliban) is now at a crucial point. If the Americans push through a deal with Taliban who are against elections (as its a western concept), against female education and want non elected posts in the government – If that deal goes through, Afghans will suffer and die again, just like the Kurds… David is a fucking moron…

  10. Meanwhile, Syrians cheering for the end of US’ ILLEGAL occupation. It’s not about us now, it’s about them. You can’t speak on behalf of Syria. Just wanna support the industrial military complex forever David?

  11. SO DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE ALONE ON THE WORLD STAGE DO YOU WELL DO YOU D TRUMP DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU HE WILL TRY TO DO A RUNNER HE WILL TRY TO BUY HIS WAY OUT

  12. They should take out Assad so Isis can't recruit anybody. The problem with Isis is their treatment of innocents, but Assad is doing that as well apparently and even worse because he's got a proper military to do it with. Take him out, then Isis. Stop the problem at it's source.

  13. If this was happening in germany, Switzerland, or Denmark, the prisoners would just stay in prision.. their jail situation is like a vacation.

  14. This is why you dont elect and then stand by knowing the jackass is unfit a MULIT FAILED BUSINESSMAN with no idea how to keep from going bankrupt 6 times as leader of a Superpower.

  15. There is a channel by a former American Marine who when to Syrian to fight in the Kurdish army called Civ Div, that updates the Turkish investion on a daily basis.

  16. Can we please move Trump and ALL his supporters to a deserted island, were he will have his subjects to rule… Leave America to the sane humans… You’ll are bat 💩 crazy!!!!

  17. What if this was foreseen and intentional? DT seems to profit from sowing chaos and fear.

For one thing, it distracts from Ukraine. For another thing it means more protection payoffs and weapons sales

  18. Bitch Boy Donny playing the victim, as always. What a tub of shit.

Any asshole that supports him is my enemy. Fuck em.

  19. Poor Kurds, always used by others to achieve some foreign goals and are then abandoned. Point in case: Progressives who have voiced any sympathy to their cause are now using the Kurds' disaster to their own anti-trump needs…

Let me just say that I have zero sympathy for Erdogan's Turkey. It should have been kicked out of NATO after that flotilla stunt, and while it is not yet on Iranian levels of malice, Turkey is definitely destabilizing the middle east with support of the Muslim Brotherhood in countries like Egypt and in Gaza. However, you have to remember that under the American umbrella the Kurds have expanded their territory into areas that they had never set foot in before, and after doing so they ethnically cleansed the local Sunnis. I'm not signaling them out for that, though. Everyone in Syria is trying to ethnically cleanse everyone else. But at any rate, US policy caused the Kurds to artificially inflate, and Erdogan had to do something to deflate their presence on his border. But thankfully, by committing Turkish forces into Syria, Erdogan has damned himself to getting stuck in there forever. Unlike the US, he can't just up and leave. He's stuck, just like the Russians and the Iranians are. Speaking of which, the return of ISIS will reintroduce the Sunni-Shia balance, where neither can overpower the other. Net gain for the rest of the world.

  20. David, calling it a "blundet" does not capture Dump's actions. A blunder is a stupid, careless mistake. He took this deliberate action for a reason that is yet unknown to us, but if it benefits Russia and the other authoritarian government of Turkey, he'll do it. Dump and the GOP are hellbent on turning the US into a fascist country.

  21. I'm just looking forward to seeing all the whiners on here who stand behind their bitching and are going to volunteer to go help the Kurds fight. It'll be a bonus if you get nailed in combat and get yourself on video with your last words being "but.. it was Hillary's.. turn….." 🙂

  22. Apparently Turkey hasn't yet done anything that Trump doesn't like since he has not done anything in response to the actions of Turkey

  23. if you think about it, trump is undoing what thousands of north americans and europeans who lost their life's as a sacrifice for the greater good did.

    lmfao, this can't be real.

  24. And don't forget, we have at least 50 tactical nuclear warheads on Turkish soil. That entire region is in chaos and falling apart more by the day; we have factions trying to out-crazy each other; ISIS is rebuilding, already having around 18,000 active fighters in the field with another 10,000 in detention that is sure to escape. It would be naive to think their #1 priority would not be to go to any lengths to get their hands on those weapons. Thanks trump! FFS.

  25. Do you think Turkey would have invaded even if Trump didnt pull US troops out? Also what would have happened if they didnt leave and Turkey went ahead with the invasion and US troops were killed?

I have been trying to think how these two scenarios would play out. Is Turkey crazy enough to attack and risk killing US troops and how would we respond.

  26. I don't have time for long comments so… David Pakman is a regressive fool. Also a liar. Probably working for globalist billionaires without being aware of it.

  27. I believe that the orange one knows these theories he's throwing out aren't true. He knows most of his base will buy anything he says. Yes, he is an idiot in many many ways. However, he has a lifetime of experience manipulating certain people and the press. I personally believe he is much more straight up evil than idiot. I also believe this whole thing was arranged between Trump, Russia, and Turkey. This orange asshole works for us. It's time we do something about him. What am I saying? It's way past time we do something about him!

  28. He only did this to cause the disaster on purpose, in order to call the democrats hypocrites and distract from impeachment.

"The democrats claim to be anti-war, but then they criticize me for ending wars. Is anyone surprised?"

    This is what he wants.

  29. As much as i dislike Trump this is nothing new, this is not a Trump problem but a u.s military problem which you guys indirectly support with your I support the troops bs. We aare talking about over 70 invasions/interventions and tens of millions of dead since ww2 but your memorie is short, there's always someone else who has to pay for your mistake. I realise this is a progressive channel bul like I said as long as youre stupid to buy in to supporting the troops this will keep happening.

  30. Trump stabs the Kurds in the back, lets Turkey move in & bomb Kurds, then stabs them in the back again with lies, Kurds are freeing ISIS. Untrustworthy ally.

  31. Can't wait to cash in on that $$60,000,000,000 bounty that'll ultimately be put on the head of the humanoid typhoon…

  32. Donald Trump's brain: "I should make a snap decision that I have no experience on, without first discussing it with someone who does have experience. Make this decision without any regard to how it will affect the safety of human lives, as long as it benefits me. Allies will lose their lives, but it'll make the Saudis happy and the red hat apologists will defend me."

    Lmao stable genius.

  33. This illegitimate criminal puts children in cages and now genocide of the Kurds. He should be charged with crimes against humanity and imprisoned!!!

  34. Trump knew that the slaughter of the Kurds would happen. He knew the ISIS prisoners would escape. He should be tried in the World Court for plotting genocide and supporting a terrorist organization.

  35. David is pro war I guess. We enter Syria in 2011 illegally and Syrians don't want us there and Assad can deal with this problem. Kurds are nomads and will help anyone that will help them but this faggot will frame anything to go against Trump and to make him seem intelligent. Trump should say water it good and this faggot will go against it.

  36. This is what happens when one cretin who knows nothing makes unilateral decisions without first taking advice or consultation. No consulting Department of Defence. No consulting Foreign Affairs. No consulting diplomats. No consulting the people affected, or other allies. No consulting generals.

To quote Rex Tillerson the man is a “[email protected] moron”.

  37. David, just one side note: Is it really a good thing or idea to step down to trumps level, using “nick names” for politicians you don’t agree with? Isn’t that something you’ve been warning the progressives NOT to do? Taking over populist strategies?
Beside that, keep up the good work.

  38. this Trump mad man has created a mess in america and now he's about to create a total mess in the world. he must be stopped. now. there's got to be a way to get him out of there. fast

  39. There's evidence of that obviously, he is POTUS, he knows things.
ISIS detention centers far from conflict area are empty, why? cause YPG would burn everything if they can be kings of the ashes.

Also, what can trump do? It was the clueless moron named Obama who decided he will support the Marxist ethno-fascists that re hated by everyone in the region, and despite the complains from the second biggest military in NATO, he went ahead and supported these guys.

What would US do if some NATO ally, started supporting Marxist "reconquista Mexicans" on US's southern border?
    Fucking think

Obama was a moron who knew nothing. Ignored advice and concerns from his allies, and here we are.
The coward should've declared no fly zone in syria right away.

  40. Trump's decisions are directly causing the deaths and displacement of thousands of innocent people. He should be charged for manslaughter.

  41. That's what happened:
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/oct/13/kurds-say-785-isis-affiliates-have-escaped-camp-after-turkish-shelling

Camps with ISIS-prisoners were attacked by Turkey, at the same time Kurdish guards were attacked by sleeper cells within the civilians and riots among ISIS-prisoners, which somebody must have armed, so they had to flee after hard fights. Defending their civilians from the Turkish attacks is also now from first priority.
Trumps misrepresentation of the Kurds couldn't have been meaner. They kept ISIS all the time reliable, although many country refused to take them back.

  42. This has been the rest of the world government's biggest fear since Trump took office; he would take action without thinking and get allies (the Kurds in this case) killed. Granted it could be worse, North Korea or Russia for example, but it is still very bad. It is not about pulling the troops out that's the problem, it's the way he went about it in a reckless manner that's the problem. There should have been a transition of responsibility from US troops to UN peace keeping troops, which takes planning and time to implement. If he was that desperate to end endless wars, he should have looked at more stable situations like Iraq and Afghanistan, but there would still need to be a period of transition put in place to withdraw from those wars.
