Trump officials said the debt was decreasing as it increased

-I do want a balanced budget. I’ve heard people say
we’ll balance the budget within 20 years. I’m saying, “20 years?
What are you talking about?” The finances of our country
are a mess, but we’re gonna clean them up. -With nearly $20 trillion
of national debt that this President is committed
to fiscal responsibility. The President does not want
a budget that will add to the deficit. -This budget does not
balance the budget. -We will balance the budget without making cuts
in Social Security and Medicare. -The President is focused on,
one, balancing the budget, bringing that debt down. -Growth is what our focus is,
which is why we’re willing to accept
increased short-term deficit. -We’re really increasing values
and maybe in a sense, we are reducing debt. -Are you confident
that the economy will grow consistently enough
to cover these costs that otherwise would lead
to a ballooning deficit? -Yes. -What can we realistically
expect the national debt to be by the end of the Pres– And I hope that
this is not a hypothetical — but by the end
of the President’s first term — -I don’t have a projection
for that right now. -The deficit, which is one of
the other criticisms, is coming down. And it’s coming down rapidly. Growth solves a lot of problems. -We anticipate a much
lower deficit share of GDP. -I don’t know if you noticed, but deficit seems
to be coming down. And last month, it was reported
and everybody was surprised, but I wasn’t surprised. -Four years going forward of
trillion plus dollar deficits, how is that fiscal conservatism? -I would say that
we needed deficits to get the economy started. Deficits have certainly worsened
in the first two years, but over 10 years, we believe
that deficits will improve. -Give me another year or two
on the deficit. As a shared GDP, we will cycle down that budget
deficit in the years ahead. The whole deficit thing
is so contingent on health of the economy
or the lack thereof. -The economy is phenomenal,
best it’s ever been.

  1. The only truth in the Trump saga,
has nothing to do with MAGA,
    it's that Don is corrupt,
    and he will irrupt,
so his "base" goes collectively gaga.

  2. 10 trillion to 19.9 trillion under Obama. 1 trillion under Trump and the WP and a bunch of high school drop outs cry. Idiots. To all you Trump haters, where do you think your food stamp check comes from? Yeah, you and all your lowlife buddies add to that deficit 😉

  3. JESUS CHRIST IS ALIVE AND ALL GLORY BE TO JESUS CHRIST THE MESSIAH. WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING IS FOR THE WORLD TO WAKE UP AND KNOW THERE IS A KING COMING AND REPENT. AMEN!!!

  4. Obama increased the debt by 8 trillion dollars, let in millions of immigrants, encouraged people to get on welfare and Dems keep spending money cause they do not want to work with him. AOC want to give Congress/ Senate a $5,000 pay increase come next yr. as if they don't make enough already and want to keep raising taxes on the working and give to illegals etc.

  5. Barron Hilton just passed away. Interesting that Trump used 'Barron' as his fake surname when desperately trying to promote his own name many years ago. The Hilton brand was so famous at the time. Was Trump's choice for his fake surname done deliberately or subconsciously? He was no doubt jealous of the great Hilton brand. The Hilton name still wins Donald…he was known as one of the all time great philanthropists. You never came close and aren't even on the list.

  8. This video conflates the concepts of debt and deficit, they aren't one in the same and are different. Related, yes, but separate.
