National Assembly’s budget sub-committee kicks off review of government’s 2020 budget proposal

the National Assembly’s budget
subcommittee has kicked off its examination of the government’s 444
billion US dollar budget proposal for next year the subcommittee is considered
the last stage of the screening process where the members deduct or increase the
budget on a project-by-project basis the committee will have finished its review
before November 29th the deadline for the budget proposal to be put up for a
vote heated debates are expected as the ruling party seeks to push through the
proposal as it stands while the main opposition party wants to cut projects
related to North Korea and welfare so it doesn’t surpass the four hundred thirty
billion dollar mark
