Jeremy Corbyn: Labour will back general election if Johnson takes no-deal off the table

Take no deal off the table and
we absolutely support an election. I’ve been calling for an election
ever since the last one because this country needs one
in order to deal with all the social injustices. But no deal must be taken off the table. – But to be clear, if there’s a vote on
Monday on a 12 December general election. What will you tell Labour MPs to do? – Tomorrow the European Union will
decide on whether there’s going to be an extension granted or not. That extension will obviously encompass
whether there’s a no deal or not. Let’s find that out tomorrow. – So it could be that you back a general
election on Monday for 12 December? – The principal is let’s take no deal
off the table, EU answer tomorrow, then we can decide.

  1. Horrible man! Don't like him one bit. Not Prime Minister material. He's behaved abominably towards the electorate by holding the opposing party as well as Parliament to ransom. I feel sorry for Boris Johnson and hope very much the Tories will win the election. Please note, I am not British. This is purely an objective view.

  2. Brexit Party won an EU election on a no deal campaign but Jeremy has decided their voter's should not be apart of his version of democracy.

  3. Bloke needs to take up full time gardening or something. If this stupid brexit happens we need jobs not a war on companies.

  4. Corbyn knows this is the closest he will ever come to wielding power so he will delay anything and everything as long as possible just to hold onto it

  5. After so many episodes, no one should fall for BJ’s bully, bluster and bluff. BJ’s another ‘cunning plan’, out of many, is to throw Northern Ireland under a bus.
His tricks and skulduggery is unravelling by the day. No way out for Boris except the ditch.

  6. How on earth can he "take no deal off the table"?

This is just a remoaner mantra.

Pass the DEAL and that solves it you remoaner TWIT.

  7. No deal (that is leaving under WTO terms) is the only deal that frees this Country from EU authoritarian rule.
Wars are fought in order that the people can rule their own Country. It’s the basis of democracy and has been demonstrated many times over that it is by far the best system of Government for the well being of the people. Many people have died to preserve our Country, Sovereignty and democracy, I have no doubt that many more would be prepared to do the same, for the same cause. Parliament can not give away, the rights of the people of this Country. No matter what deals are stuck, what agreements made, we can take it back without explanation, or discussion and hold those responsible to account.

  8. How can you take no deal off the table., he’s using it as an excuse as he knows he will loose and be put out to pasture at last hooray

  9. Corbyn, If you believe you're going to win the election, go on and take No Deal Off the table by yourself! Why blame Boris?

  10. How about if PM Jonson can do the splits and Sing like Mariah Carey at the same time, then we will have a general election?

  11. Why on earth should we take no deal off the table? Leavers voted to leave – not for a deal. Leavers won the referendum – remember!

  12. Take 'no deal' off the table and then 'we can decide'. Cousins, you see the direction he's taking. Johnson takes 'no deal' off the table and there will be no general election. Corbyn and Nancy Pelosi are two of a kind.

  13. Corbyn "I want an election, i want an election."
    Boris "lets have an election"
Corbyn "no i vote against the election, now give us an election"

  14. The call for an election is both a stunt and an attempt to give himself carte blanche on Brexit when he can probably get most of his Brexit deal through with this Parliament.

  15. Labour Party the party that ordered Police to stop investigations into the thousands of British young girls that were GANG RAPED
    What a Disgusting slimy mob

  16. But what does no deal MEAN? it just doesn't seem possible. If for whatever reason Parliament isn't able to get a deal and where we fail to remain in the EU then what plans have been put in place? Have you come up with a temporary deal that is set to be replaced after the fact or do you wanna just replace no deal with remain. I'm generally baffled at the prospect of removing no deal as a option

  17. Come on you feckin coward, and all the Labour remainer MP's It's time to meet your people, they will feck you all over the place then turn you out on your ear, we can't wait, and the longer you dither the more voters you'll lose.

  18. IF WE DO NOT GET OUT WITHOUT A DEAL, ENGLAND WILL NO LONGER EXIST!!! NEITHER WILL NORTHERN IRELAND. LOOK AT THE MAP OF POST BREXIT UK. SCOTLAND AND WALES WILL STILL BE KNOWN AS SCOTLAND AND WALES. NORTHERN IRELAND WILL BE KNOWN AS ULSTER. ENGLAND WILL NOT BE KNOWN AT ALL. THEY ARE REMOVING ANY MENTION OF ENGLAND EVERYWHERE. THE LAND THAT WAS ONCE ENGLAND WILL BE SPLIT INTO 9 REGIONS. WE MUST NOT TAKE ANY FORM OF DEAL!!

  19. I don't understand how the leader of the opposition can hold the country to ransom like this. Corbyn is blocking everything, and the country is unable to move forward as a result. I don't care who you vote for, surely this can't be right?

  20. Brexit: Labour will only support election if no deal 'off the table' – live news ► https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2019/oct/24/brexit-general-election-boris-johnson-labour-eu-extension-live-news

  21. Tell you what Corbyn! Put it to the public. Let's have a referendum to see if we want a general election.
I know what the result will be and I know that Boris Johnson will have a landslide victory. That's the real reason you don't want an election. You and your Trotsky party will be finished.

  22. Jeremy Corbyn says: “take no-deal off the table and we absolutely support an election …”
Jeremy Corbyn means: deny the electorate any say on whether to keep a no-deal on the table and we will support an election, knowing full well it will be impossible for the government to secure a deal that will pass through parliament.

  23. Corbyn was told your ratings your personal ratings are dreadfull the Labour part ratings are dreadfull , are you not afraid of a General Election , No says Corbyn I Campaign all the time !!!!!? Hello Hello

  24. Labour Marxist Party is too chicken to fight an election. The only way they stay anywhere close to power is by avoiding elections until the five year Parliament is up. Then oblivion.

As soon as people in a community no longer respect others, it is on a downhill trajectory.  A lot of places still have some level of trust but for the main part, we all know a ratio of socialist people living amongst us will be envious of any material goods we have and think it is perfectly acceptable to steal from us.  In some ways those at the bottom of society mimic those at the very top.  Such as MPs and their inheritance taxation, they think it is OK to plunder and take from bereaved families.

  25. Corbyn is a slithery snake, entertaining desperate machinations as he knows he is losing a grip on his power and his party is imploding.

  26. he's a despicable marxist stooge, and i'd happily vote for him to be deported to any of the socialist utopias currently around, my preference would be North Korea.

  27. Boris. Take it off the table but then watch CORBYN find another reason to not have a GE. He knows he will lose by a landslide

  28. Someone needs to inform Wurzel that if wants to dictate policy in this country he has to win a general election.
    No chance of that then.

  29. This 'Title' makes Guardian News look less like a News Agency & more like a 11 Year Old. Fixed below…
Jeremy Corbyn: Labour will back General Election if Johnson takes 'No-Deal' off the table.

  30. You can take no deal off the table yourself if you win the election on dec 12th. The Benn act has supposedly stopped no deal anyway.

  31. Listen to Corby, if you leave EU you will end up like Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. No jobs, no medicine, no social services and long delays on the border…. and everybody are really poor….
